Fireworks & Freedom

"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others." — Nelson Mandela

The celebrations started on Saturday and go well into the rest of this week in the United States of America. Our family watched fireworks in one of our state parks with the moon clear in the sky. We are celebrating the fourth of July which was the date the Declaration of Independence was signed.

One of the great protections the USA has is the right to disagree with their own government, to even criticize it. I watched the fireworks show with another few hundred people. I am sure there are many that disagree with my own views. I cherish their right to do so.

That fireworks show, and what it represents, is for all of us.

Yours in the calm pursuit of excellence,
